Girard-Perregaux ww.tc ‘Dark Night’

Unveiled at this year’s Jewelers’ Circular Keystone (JCK) expo in Las Vegas, Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux has crafted this impressive ww.tc (world-wide time control) “Dark Night” timepiece — a certain ‘grail watch’ for any discerning aviator. The smooth 43mm case is crafted from both ceramic and rubber, and houses an in-house 63-jewel Swiss automatic movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve for up to 46 hours. The movement was custom designed for this model, featuring a flyback chrono used by pilots, while also displaying twenty-four time zones with day and night indicators. Sadly, while only 25 pieces of the Dark Night will be made available to the United States market, Girard-Perregaux has the companion “Shadow” edition available for their global markets.
